Best practices for paper sacks

Paper sacks are an efficient, effective and sustainable packaging solution for powdered and loose materials. But when it comes to filling, storing or distributing them, the right handling can make a big difference. Poor handling practices can increase the risk of damage to paper sack materials or filled paper sacks. To support all players in the paper sack supply chain who handle empty and filled sacks, the European Sack Research Group – a collaboration between CEPI Eurokraft and EUROSAC – has published handling recommendations for industrial paper sacks.

Part 1 includes best practice instructions for filling sites. Part 2 is directed at distributors and retailers. Both brochures inform about possible risks during the different operational steps at the respective site. They explain the consequences these risks might entail and how to handle paper sacks properly.

The handling recommendations are available in English, French, German and Italian.
